Standpoint Privacy Policy
Effective October 18, 2026 · The Brand Bullpen LLC · info@standpoint.social
Standpoint is a writing tool. It reads what you have already published about yourself, asks you what you think, and turns your answers into LinkedIn posts in your own words. This policy explains what we collect, why, where it goes, and how to delete it.
1. What we collect
Things you give us
- Your name and work email address (used to sign you in with a magic link and to send you the daily email).
- The website and LinkedIn profile URLs you enter at sign-up.
- Your answers in the interview, your edits to drafts, the posts you approve, and any settings (timezone, send time, posting cadence, why you post).
- Photos you add to a post or as a field note. They are stored privately and only attached to posts by you.
- On Premium, if you choose to: your mobile number, so we can text you on the afternoons you pick, and whatever you text back. Reply STOP or turn it off in Settings at any time; the number is deleted when you do.
- Sites, blogs, or newsletters you add under “Where you read”, which we read each morning to suggest topics. Links you paste to write about.
- Your reactions to suggestions: thumbs-down reasons, starred angles, and “not a buyer” on comment suggestions. These only tune your own suggestions.
Things we read on your behalf
- Your public LinkedIn profile and your recent public posts (headline, about, experience, education, skills, follower counts, and the text of up to 20 recent posts). We read only your own profile, only after you have given us its URL, and we keep only the fields needed to write in your voice.
- Up to twelve public pages of the website you enter (home, about, services, pricing, case studies, blog).
- Once a week, your recent public LinkedIn posts again, to note which of your drafts went live and how they did (reactions and comments), and to keep your voice profile current from what you actually publish.
- Each morning, a handful of public LinkedIn posts by other people in your buyers’ world, so we can suggest three worth a comment. We store the post text, the author’s public name and headline, and the link; nothing about the author beyond what is on the post.
- On Pro and above, once a day, a small number of public posts on X in your industry, read through X’s official API, so we can suggest a topic worth your reaction. We store the post text, the account’s public name and handle, and the link. These searches use your industry, never your name or your account.
Things we generate
- A profile of your business, your customers, the themes you are credible on, and how you write. You review and can edit or delete all of it.
- Topic suggestions, interview transcripts, drafts, editing notes, and a grade for each draft.
- Comment suggestions (why a post, and a one-line idea), your posting streak, and your Scoreboard, all computed from the data above.
Things collected automatically
- A session cookie so you stay signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
- Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) kept briefly for security and debugging.
2. How we use it
- To build and maintain your profile so suggestions and drafts sound like you.
- To find current news in your industry worth your take.
- To draft, edit, and (with your explicit action) publish posts to your own LinkedIn profile.
- To send you one email on each of your posting days, and a reminder when you ask for one. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe, and you can turn them off in Settings.
- To improve drafts for you over time: the edits you make and the posts you publish teach the tool how you write. This learning is per account. We do not use your data to train models for other users or third parties.
We do not sell your data, show you ads, or share your data with anyone for their own marketing.
3. LinkedIn
Standpoint does not use your LinkedIn login and does not post for you. You copy each post and publish it yourself in LinkedIn.
- Reading your public profile and posts, and the public posts we suggest you comment on, uses a third-party reading service that reads publicly visible pages. This is not one of LinkedIn's official tools; we read only public pages, only your own profile plus the posts we suggest, and about once a week. You can ask us to stop the weekly read at any time by email.
- If we later offer LinkedIn's official sign-in and publishing, it will be a separate, optional connection that you can revoke in Settings, and this policy will be updated first.
AI
Your profile, interview answers, drafts, edits, and the day’s news items are sent to Anthropic’s API to generate suggestions and text. Under Anthropic’s API terms this data is not used to train its models. No AI output is posted anywhere without you reading and copying it.
4. Who processes your data for us
We use these providers to run the service. Each receives only what it needs to do its job:
| Provider | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, sign-in, and photo storage (hosted on AWS) | Everything listed above |
| Anthropic (Claude) | Generating your profile, questions, drafts, edits, topic ideas, and comment suggestions | Your profile, interview answers, drafts, the day's news items; not used to train models under Anthropic's API terms |
| A third-party page-reading service | Reading your public LinkedIn profile and posts (at sign-up and about weekly), public LinkedIn posts by others to suggest comments on, and websites that block simple readers | Your LinkedIn URL, your website URL, and search terms in your buyers' vocabulary (never your identity) |
| Exa / Tavily | Finding recent industry news | Your industry and customer themes, not your identity |
| X (Twitter) API | Finding public X posts in your industry worth a reaction, on Pro and above | Search terms built from your industry, never your identity; X returns public posts and the posting account's public name and handle |
| Resend | Sending the daily and reminder emails | Your email address and the content of each email |
| Twilio | Sending the optional afternoon text on Premium, and receiving your replies | Your mobile number (only if you add one), the texts we send, and anything you text back |
| Stripe | Payment, when you subscribe | Your name, email, and card details (card details go to Stripe, never to us) |
| Vercel | Hosting | Standard request logs |
5. Retention and deletion
- Your data is kept while you have an account.
- Delete my data in Settings removes everything we have read and generated: your LinkedIn and website data, your profile, interviews, drafts, photos, topic history, comment suggestions, and reading sources. Your account email stays so you can sign in again; published posts stay on LinkedIn, where you control them.
- To delete your account entirely, email info@standpoint.social and we will remove it within 30 days.
- Backups are purged on a rolling basis within 30 days of deletion.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including the EU/UK under GDPR and California under CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to complain to a supervisory authority. Most of this you can do yourself in Settings; for anything else, email us and we will respond within 30 days. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
7. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. LinkedIn tokens are additionally encrypted with an application key. Access to production data is limited to the people who operate the service. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your data we will notify you as required by law.
8. Children
Standpoint is for working professionals and is not directed at anyone under 18.
9. Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you by email or in the app.
